Take your medicine, if you truly do have hashimotos, that means sooner or later you will die if you don't take your medicine. Hashimotos is when your antibodies attack your thyroid, and mine is almost gone already. If you dont, your heart will stop because of lack of appropriate hormones. Not everyone with Hashimotos needs medication. At some point chances are that your immune system will kill your thyroid. If your TSH and T4 are ok you do not need hormone replacement yet. It is important to get regular bloodwork and ultrasounds done to keep an eye on things. Hope you have your thyroid levels tsh monitored while pregnant as your thyroid need increase approx 25 percent.

Very sincerely yours, nursepen. When I hit middle age and moved to a colder climate I quickly put on 10 pounds. I am active and eat pretty decent.

My doctor won't take me serious when I talk to her about my weight - she just says you are getting older. It is very frustrating and I can understand why someone would turn to something like taking thyroxine as I ended up on this site thinking about trying to the same thing. I am educated woman and I know the eat smaller meals more often etc etc etc but nothing short of cardio non stop seems to help and I cannot keep that kind of regime up long term.
I would be happy for your advice nursepen. I have fibromyalgia I was wondering how you got on disability.
