Ice baths will stress the body, but pool-temperature water is generally okay. And you usually feel warmer when you get out. My riends have known for me to go swimming in the pacific ocean in february and march for minutes at a time and usually I feel better and more energetic after.   5. I wouldn't go overboard pain doesn't always equal gain. I was just wondering if anyone could find info on the caloric loss. I know when I was a kid running around up north northern Canada in a thin jacket and in the forest hours a day, I ate whatever I wanted and was thin part of that was exercise, a lot of it was trying to keep warm.
