Hard to lose weight with mirena

My clothes fit worse not better and it is so frustrating. Anyone else experience something similar with the Mirena? I really want to love it, it has been a breeze but I need to lose the last 20 lbs of my pregnancy weight to feel comfortable again and I don't know what to do. Following, I got the mirena at 6 weeks pp too.

I've had a hard time losing the last 10 pounds but I also haven't been as good about eating right as I could be.

Reviews for Mirena

I did ask my doctor about weight gain when I had it inserted, she said that wasn't a thing and stories about it were simply coincidence I've had a hard time losin I also did some googling before posting and all I could find was people who lost weight right after having it removed. I just want to know if losing weight being harder is common with the mirena or if it's just me. I had it and lost 25 lb. However, now I have the mini pill, and within the first three weeks of having it, I gained 7 lb. Everyone is different!

Got Mirena after second baby, I had issues with weight and very hormonal. I was a lot more of tune with my hormones, less patience and grumpy. Now after third baby using copper IUD that has no hormones in there, big difference for me.

Don't know if that helps but you can also remove it anytime if trying to conceive again. I've heard people say that. After my first I got the mirena 6 weeks pp and gained more than I lost after the pregnancy. I also didn't have a healthy lifestyle. I lost 35lbs 4 years ago and this pregnancy and pp recovery was much easier.

Healthy eating and exercise is good but there are other life style changes that will help. Drinking lots of water, avoiding drinking, and general self care mental and physical!

Weight loss AFTER Mirena removal?! | Mom Answers | BabyCenter

You lose the most weight in the first 6 weeks so the weight loss plateau likely just coincided with Mirena placement. If you are breastfeeding it is often next to impossible to lose the last 10 lbs until you stop. I've had Mirena since my first kid 9 years ago and have always lost the baby weight but I work my tail off- running 5 miles 5x a week and strength training 3x a week.

Why Losing Weight Gets Harder With Age (And What To Do About It)

Thanks I sure hope so! I have been trying so hard to lose weight the past couple of months it just is disappointing. Usually I can just eat healthy and work out for a week and notice a difference but I guess having a baby does change things.

How Mirena Works

Take care and tea and biscuits for you tonight as they do say to take it easy after you've had one fitted. C x Hi Glenda, i hope today went ok for you at the docs. Hi Girls, I had mine fitted on 23rd Dec , I still have a very slight period to the fact it might as well not bother, however I do have very full boobs, and have put on 6lbs since then, but fine it hard to loos any weight and can eat for England at the mo.

Feel very tired ratty and bloated the week when i should have been on, if that makes sence. HI Found you yesterday i found it very hhelpfuli had a mirena coil fitted in March and only noticed the with gain when i tried on shorts that i had not had on since last year and go very depressed as they would not fit i duly weighed myslf to discover i had put on around 10 LLbsi felt totally devastated as i have never been that heavy. It did aeem odd as i swim a lot which i know burns ccalories I weighed myslef morning and i have lost 2 LBS i going to try the aquaban to see if that makes a difference, does anybody here feel like they have a spare tires around their front waist, a flat tummy around the back side jeans hanging and not fitting on the waist.

Helloooo, well i have been to the doctors, who has very kindly reassured me that you do get fluid retention in the first months and this can give the feeling of bloated tummy, thighs, fingers and bigger boobs the last one is a bonus in my case! If however i'm still like this in a few months time then i've been told to go back to the doctor for some help and advice. I am reassured by this as i felt bloated last Monday, this Monday nice and slim!

I really hope that this gives you girls some reassurance and helps you not to worry too much about it. I'm off to have some celebratory smarties!

How to Lose Weight After a Mirena Removal

I asked if I should take Aqua-ban and she said not advisable as I would then be taking them for a long period of time until the retention had subsided and the coil settled down and really aqua-ban is to be used as a "one off" treatment. So i've decided to accept the fact that being an extra bit "chunky and wibbly" from time to time is not down to my passion for Smarties, but due to the process of "settling in" with my new coil. Nobody told me this! I had mine fitted on Wednesday after the doc convinced me to go for the Mirena instead of the copper coil that I wanted.

I'm already a mahoosive 34H 32 back on a good day and could do without getting any bigger. Also I'm just starting to lose my baby weight and am back to having 2 stone to go to my target. Please tell me more people stagnante or lose weight than put it on Victoria Simmons V. At first I had spot periods and a few heavy days. No weight gain.

However 6 months in the periods have stopped and I've gained half a stone. I am really not happy about this. I am at the time of month approximately when I would have had a period so might wait a few days but if this continues the coil is going. Aim to get at least minutes of exercise each week that you consider intense and challenging. Perform strength training exercises to build lean muscle mass, which causes your body to burn additional calories throughout your day.

Do eight to 10 different exercises twice per week, recommends the American College of Sports Medicine. Work up to 12 reps per exercise. Eat a heart-healthy diet to promote weight loss, recommends the American Heart Association. Choose whole grains, including percent whole wheat bread, and brown rice over processed white grains, including white bread and white rice.

Increase your fruit and vegetable intake. Pick lean meats and low-fat dairy products. Cook at home instead of eating fast food. Carry healthy snacks with you to help you make healthy food choices.
