I tend to hover around the same weight all month and then drop suddenly when shark week actually starts. My average weight loss is about what I expect at lbs per week, but the only time I actually drop is when my period happens.
I do weigh daily, but only for my graph's sake - I use a day average for predictions and a 7-day average for smoothing so it's not alarming-looking to maintain or gain. I'm not really distressed about it or anything, just curious if anyone has the same experience. Better yet, a link to an explanation! I was thinking the exact same thing this morning! I hover at the same weight for 3 weeks, then drop 4 pounds in a week and then back to hovering. No links to explanation. I am happy with believing it is just the way it is.
Still weigh myself everyday, just to make sure I'm not going in the opposite direction. Once as soon as I wake up, brush my teeth and pee. And again just before going to bed, no matter what time it is. It is quite interesting because I am easily pounds lighter in the morning than the night before - crazy, isn't it? But as I said in the previous post, the morning weights stay pretty much the same until shark week - so consistent that I wonder if my scale broke.
Sometimes I get pissed off with the scale and don't make an entry in the spreadsheet, but it usually just means "same as the day before, meh". I always wondered why it's possible to feel much thinner right after shark week during my teen years. I noticed changes in my complexion more than the weight change when I was a teenager.
I only started collecting data recently, so hopefully in a few months I'll post a "dis be crazy" post to this subreddit with some graphs. This is almost always the case with me as well. And I too now look forward to the shark's arrival, which is something I never thought I'd say. I try to race against shark week, I. I only seem to lose the first half of my cycle. I think I read somewhere that the 2nd half of your cycle is when progesterone rises which can cause water retention and weight gain for some women. I get super bloated around the time that I ovulate. For awhile I thought I was losing from all the blood I lose on my period.
My guess is it correlates with the different hormones released throughout the cycle and it varies from person to person how their body reacts to their hormones! I know a lot gain during period, etc. It's so interesting how everyone is so different! Ok, I think this is what I'm looking for. I was losing a bit and now on day 11 of my cycle I've gained over a pound. I turn into a hormonal monster while ovulating gain up to 4 pounds, bloated, fatigue, irritability etc. I'm seeing a hormone specialist next week because for awhile I've had the sneaking suspicion that my hormones were a bit off.
I get PMDD x I would most def KCKO! There have been times where I hit my macros, weigh all of my food, eat a deficit and still gain 5 pounds. A woman's cycle is a hell of a thing! I have no idea why! I actually look forward to TOM now cause besides knowing I'm not pregnant I'm also dropping a little extra weight. Please please respond and give me advice.

Hi there, I have gained a significant amount of weight this past year due to stress and binge eating, my last period was around May My doctor says when I lose weight it should come back but is there anything I can do? How long will it take? What exactly about losing weight is going to make your period come back?
2. You’re having a ton of cravings, therefore eating differently.
I know of no research that shows any significant association between weight loss and regaining a period. What is the exact reason your period has disappeared? It sounds like you need to figure out the root cause first. Find a new doctor you can team up with that is on your side and is willing to do necessary testing. Love the article but I was wondering if it is possible to get your period back only by eating more while continuing the same exercise routine. I was wondering how long I should wait after I get my first period back to slowly start working out again and possibly decreasing my intake, as what I am eating right now is just too much to continue on for a long time.
So ya, I was just wondering how long I should wait before trying to slowly go back down again and start working out more. Also, how should I do it? Lmk, thanks again! Hi Liv!
Tips for Weight Loss During and Around Your Period
I would wait until your cycle has returned for cycles, then experiment with low intensity workouts x a week. I have been restricting somewhat i. I am at a healthy weight already and thought I was just imagining it, and giving in to PMS cravings. For around 6 months I went through a phase of eating only my evening meal on day and skipping the next day of food entirely. I decided to stop this and began to slowly increasing my calories. Not long after this I joined a boxing club and a gym and was training 7 days a week sometimes twice a day.
I have recently quite boxing and now weight train just 5 days a week. Should stop from reducing them further?
Period ended weight gain?
Also my BMI and blood is all fine. Seems like there are some patterns, deep rooted believes, etc. Also my cup-size went from European B to barely an A, any tips? Also reading this helped so much! Hi there sorry for the confusion, the research I have done shows that having extra weight Means your body produces more Estrogen, one of the hormone that regulates the female reproductive system and this affects how often we have periods and when they stop.
So you have estrogen dominance? Have you gotten any hormonal testing done? Sounds like there are a lot of assumptions here? I feel a lot of guilt doing any activity during recovery because of what some people say but surely it should be fine right? I feel rested and less stressed overall. Do you think it is right to fear people into not exercising while getting their period back?
I recommend doing restorative movement until your period returns. I was wondering if anyone could help me.
